My father's father was in vaudeville. When he came to town my dad would go and watch the seven shows a day, seven days a week. He saw the great comedians of his day work. When he was in the army, instead of sending him to frontline duty, they had him entertain the troops with the "wrote" routines of these incredible comedians he had set to memory. For that reason, I believe comedy "saved my life".

When I was growing up we always had comedy records around and told jokes at the dinner table. In my work as a musician I've often interjected humorous ideas into the bands I was in. Like the Flying Emus, for example.
